On 23 April 2026, Mr. Felice Meli, Partner of Ferrante Intellectual Property, was invited as a keynote speaker at the thematic seminar “Counterfeiting in China’s Online and Offline Markets” co-organised by the EU SME Centre, the EUCCC Intellectual Property Rights Working Group, and the IP SME Helpdesk.

The seminar was successfully held at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) Shanghai office and on an online platform attracting nearly 100 professionals from EU-funded enterprises in China, industry associations, and the IP field, who gathered to discuss the latest trends in online and offline counterfeiting in China as well as compliance and rights enforcement pathways.

Mr. Felice MELI delivered a presentation titled “
Recent Trends in Counterfeiting and Legal Remedies”, offering EU SMEs systematic IP protection and enforcement solutions based on authoritative data, typical case studies, and practical experience.

Addressing the new trends in counterfeiting, Mr. Felice Meli drew on typical cases from China’s Supreme People’s Court, Supreme People’s Procuratorate, and State Administration for Market Regulation. He provided detailed explanations of targeted legal remedies, distilled key points, and offered tiered, practical guidance for EU SMEs according to different scales of infringement.

In the panel discussion moderated by Min Gao, Chair of the EUCCC Intellectual Property Rights Working Group, Mr. Felice Meli, together with panelists Miller Wang, Vice Chair of the EUCCC Fashion & Leather Desk, and Helika Jürgenson, Project Manager of the IP SME Helpdesk, answered specific questions from both online and offline participants regarding IP protection in China.”

This thematic seminar precisely addressed the pain points of EU SMEs in protecting their IP in China, focusing on cutting-edge trends and practical challenges, and built a professional and efficient exchange platform.
