On September 12, 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) published an announcement on the Significant Achievements and Results of Market Regulation Authorities in Combating Infringement and Counterfeiting during the First Half of 2025.

In the first half of 2025, market regulation authorities organised special actions, including intellectual property law enforcement, to strengthen governance in key sectors, important products, and critical market areas. These efforts aimed to leverage administrative enforcement as a deterrent, effectively protecting the legal rights of both rights holders and consumers, maintaining market order, and ensuring a favourable business environment.

Specifically, during this period, various special actions led to the investigation of nearly 240,000 related cases, including 17,000 cases of trademark infringement and patent counterfeiting. Approximately 34,000 law enforcement actions were carried out against high-frequency infringement and counterfeiting in key physical markets.
